Our Story
Bringing Turkish heritage
to the world
From a single rented school room in Hong Kong to twenty-eight studios across nine countries — every mosaic lamp we make is a small act of cultural storytelling.
A workshop, a borrowed room, an idea worth sharing.
In 2019, two friends — Musa, an artist with a deep love for traditional Turkish craft, and Ibrahim, an operator with a head for systems — rented a multipurpose room inside a Hong Kong school and ran their first Ebru water-marbling workshop.
They had no studio, no staff, and no idea that in just a few years they'd welcome over 200,000 creators across three continents. What they had was the conviction that the slow, meditative act of placing coloured glass into a mosaic lamp could become a window into a culture most of the world had never touched.
Six years. Three continents. One craft.
Click any year to jump through our growth — from a single school room in Hong Kong to a global network of studios and franchise partners.
🇭🇰The very first workshop
Musa runs Mosaic Art Studio's debut Ebru workshop inside a rented Hong Kong school multipurpose room. Twenty seats. They sell out in days.
🇭🇰First brick-and-mortar
Doors open in Hong Kong. The studio quickly becomes a cultural hub — local press call it "a mini-Turkey in the city."
🇹🇼Crossing borders
A friend opens our second studio in Taipei. Demand booms — the location grows into three studios across Taiwan.
🇨🇦🇳🇱Onto two new continents
During global lockdowns, people crave hands-on creative outlets. Studios open in Ottawa, Canada and Rotterdam, Netherlands within weeks of each other.
🇨🇦🇳🇴West coast & the North
New studios launch in Vancouver, Canada and Norway. The franchise model begins to formalise.
🇨🇦Quebec joins the family
Two new studios open in Montreal and Laval, deepening our Canadian roots and bringing the workshops to a French-speaking audience.
🇺🇸The American chapter begins
Ibrahim relocates to the US and we open our first American studio. Today there are 10 US studios and dozens of pop-ups serving Fortune 500 clients across the country.
🇫🇷🇧🇪🇬🇧Going truly global
Studios launch in Toronto and Calgary. Workshops debut in Lille, Paris, Brussels and London — nine countries, twenty-eight studios, one craft.
Four ways to make something beautiful
Every workshop is hands-on, beginner-friendly, and rooted in a craft you can take home with you.

Mosaic Lamp
Our flagship — build your own glowing Turkish mosaic lamp from hand-cut glass.

Ebru — Water Marbling
The UNESCO-recognised art of painting on water, then transferring patterns to silk or paper.

Ceramic Painting
Decorate traditional Turkish ceramics with patterns inspired by Ottoman artistry.

Turkish Coffee
Tradition, art, and ritual in a cup — including the centuries-old craft of fortune-telling.
Every lamp leaves our hands before it lights up yours.
The frames, the glass tiles, the tools — handcrafted by our artisans and shipped from our supply hub to every studio worldwide. It's why a workshop in Brussels feels exactly like a workshop in Brooklyn.
To turn a quiet evening at the studio into a small piece of cultural exchange — one mosaic lamp, one country, one new creator at a time.
Meet the founders
Musa
The artistic heart of Mosaic Art Studio. Musa designs every workshop experience and brings his passion for traditional Turkish craft into every lamp, every kit, every cultural night.
Ibrahim
The systems and business mind behind the studio's growth. Ibrahim built the franchise model and supply chain that makes it possible to feel "the same warmth" in a workshop in Norway as in Hong Kong.
